Frequently asked questions

No. The preview is shown only on this page, nothing is recorded or uploaded, and the camera turns off when you click Stop or leave the page.

Usually another app (Zoom, Teams, OBS) is already using it, camera access is blocked for this site, or the wrong camera is selected. Close other apps, allow access from the icon in the address bar, and pick the right device.

Browsers start with a modest default. Choose a higher resolution in the menu; the camera will use the closest mode it supports. Some cameras also lower resolution or frame rate in dim light.

Reported is what the camera driver says it delivers. Measured counts the frames actually arriving in your browser each second, which can be lower in poor lighting or on a busy computer.
