How to use the Image Converter

Frequently asked questions

WebP gives the smallest files for the web with transparency support. JPG is the most compatible for photos. PNG is lossless and best for screenshots, logos and images that need sharp edges.

AVIF files can be used as input, but most browsers cannot encode AVIF yet, so it isn't offered as an output format. The tool only shows formats your browser can actually produce.

JPG has no transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with the background color you choose (white by default).

No. The converter uses the browser's canvas, which captures the first frame of an animated GIF.

Yes. Conversion happens locally with your browser's built-in image encoder. Nothing is uploaded.
