Frequently asked questions

Yes. They're generated with the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues), the same cryptographically secure generator browsers use for encryption, with unbiased character selection.

No. Everything happens in your browser. Passwords are never saved, logged or sent over the network.

For important accounts use at least 16 random characters, or a passphrase of 5 or more words. Longer is always better, and use a different password for every site.

Entropy measures how unpredictable a password is, in bits. Each extra bit doubles the guesses an attacker needs. Around 80 bits is strong; 100+ is very strong.

Both are secure at the right length. Random passwords pack more strength into fewer characters, while passphrases like Maple-Rocket-Tide7-Lunar are much easier to remember and type.
