Image Compressor

Shrink JPG, PNG and WebP files by up to 90% without visible quality loss.

100% Client-Side

Drop up to 20 images, pick a quality and size limit, then download the smaller files.

How to use the Image Compressor

  1. 1

Drag and drop your JPG, PNG or WebP images onto the upload area, or click to choose files.

  2. 2

Adjust the quality slider. 0.7–0.8 is a good balance between size and clarity for photos.

  3. 3

Optionally set a maximum file size in KB or MB — the compressor will aim to stay under it.

  4. 4

Compare the before and after preview and the exact size savings for each image.

  5. 5

Download images one by one or grab them all in a single ZIP file.

Frequently asked questions

No. Compression runs entirely in your browser using a Web Worker, so your photos never leave your device. You can even use the tool offline once the page has loaded.

Typical phone photos shrink by 60–90% at quality 0.8 with no visible difference. PNG screenshots and graphics often shrink less because they are already efficiently encoded.

It sets a target file size. The compressor repeatedly lowers quality and, if needed, the dimensions until the image fits under your limit — useful for upload forms with strict size caps.

If an image is already well optimized, re-encoding can make it slightly larger. In that case AnyToolBox keeps your original file and marks it as already optimized.

You can compress up to 20 images at a time, each up to 50 MB. Very large images use more memory, so older phones may be slower.
