Frequently asked questions

No. The recording is made by your browser's built-in MediaRecorder and stays on your device until you download it.

Browsers only share audio when you allow it in the sharing picker. In Chrome and Edge, tick “Share audio” — tab audio is the most reliable; whole-screen audio works on Windows and ChromeOS. Firefox and Safari can't capture system audio, but the microphone option works.

No. Mobile browsers don't let web pages capture the screen. Use a desktop browser such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.

There's no watermark and no fixed limit. The recording is held in memory, so very long recordings depend on how much RAM your device has.

MP4 plays almost everywhere and is offered when your browser can record it. WebM is the native format of Chrome and Firefox recorders and works in modern browsers and editors.
